The project is part of a predominantly rural area which is undergoing a radical transformation of construction, in a place of strong suburban development situated close to the University of Calabria.

The desire of the municipal administration has been to create a link between the university and the urban area of Rende. However, without a detailed plan for the area, the developments have taken place independently and without an overall vision.

The Palleca 1-2-3-4 buildings give a strong architectural stamp to the surrounding environment through the adoption of eclectic solutions- formal, aesthetic and finishings that characterize the exterior surfaces.

All the buildings are in an urban setting with their individual character, with architectural elements such as stilts, that give momentum and continuity to the surfaces; staircases, which act as a hinge, the spine of the different masses that compose the building and the roof covering that, with its coloured band, limits the irregular masses creating a dynamic movement.

The quality of the living space is the main prerogative of the building work in question, and the result of an innovative housing policy.
