HOUSE DRAYTON GARDENS - LONDON

Architect and Project Manager: Sabrina De Caro
Location: London (UK)
Year of Design and Construction: 2008

Elegant but cosy, this London residence has a contemporary yet functional feel, with a spatial continuity that creates a pathway full of light, with areas for entertaining friends and others perfect for the daily lives of adults and children.

In contrasting black and white, in primary geometric forms, the interior spaces are dynamic and functional. Inserts in laminated glass with two-coloured resin, in colours from white to various shades of gray, are used in the cabinet doors and glass partitions. The reflection and transparency of surfaces, enhanced by natural light, amplify the spaces and deepen perspectives.

The attention to detail, such as the choice of the warm, burnished floorboards, which create a strong contrast to the whiteness of the masonry surfaces, or the delicate design of the ceilings in the living area, complete the design that creates natural light in the apartment.

In the centre of the end living room wall there is a square patterned area, panelled in dark brown leather, with two side niches in which the works of the Calabrian artist, Cesare BERLINGIERI, enhance the duotone effect. The curved sofa by Poltrona Frau is set in the environment in order to free up the space. The dining area is enhanced by the table and chairs designed by Saarinen.

Further objects in the space are the table lamp designed by Castiglioni Taccia and the chandelier in chrome-plated steel.
