The commercial building is located in an urban area characterized by social housing and a busy road that leads to the city centre of Castrolibero, a satellite city of Cosenza.
The area of intervention, for industrial use, is regulated by mixed planning initiatives aimed at the redevelopment of the area. The new building,with severe and rigid lines, consists of a ground floor plus a basement.
Particular attention has been paid to all exterior surfaces. The favoured south and east sides of the exterior, clad in colourful alucobond, emphasize the rhythm of the heavy concrete structure, but are lightened by slender columns divided into three thin bands with one covering band.
The fulcrum of the building is the angle between the two access roads, out of the box that surrounds the staircase, which connects the different levels, with two concave surfaces creating a recognizable and distinctive totemic tower.
